Japanese Tea Garden San Antonio
Mass planting mania – now that is just my xericstyle!!! I love so much their theme of mass planting the same plant for impact. New area, new mass planting. It is grooooooovy. What a magical place, and how lucky we are here in San Antonio that we can go for FREE anytime we like! And believe me…my family has been several times already this season. What are you waiting for?
I think this is the PERFECT planting to welcome visitors to a central Texas garden. Nothing better than yuccas and sotols in my books!
No words required ….isn’t this spectacular?!?! And look at the turtle!!!!! There are many fish, and turtles. This is a really fun place to take kids NOT IN STROLLERS. There are no ramps here so get out your Ergo Baby carriers mamas…
This seating area is so pretty, I love the natural bench under this beautifully shaped Chilopsis linearis. Salvia and lantana to die for!
Flame acanthus (Anisacanthus quadrifidus var. wrightii) is on my shopping list! I am happy to see how huge they get before planting…I will leave a big space!
Come on down!

I can see why you visit so often, Christina
Hard not to! :) – xericstyle
I have not been here since college, and I need to rectify that! Looks like a great place for a stroll.
It is! You could come to San Antonio and do the zoo and the garden as I am sure you know already but they are side by side. And there are some nice shady spots. Apparently it was closed for years and re-opened in ’06 or ’07 I think it was – so glad because it would be such a shame to let a magical place like this deteriorate. – xericstyle
