Front Garden is 7 months old

My screen saver slide show displayed this picture today…and I realized, when we think we have so much to do in the garden and we are so far from attaining our goals, sometimes we need to look back and remember where we started…

BEFORE: Baby front garden in December 2011

AFTER: End of June 2012 (7 months later)

Mother Earth is pretty incredible….what she can do in 7 months!  Energy is renewed…..I can hardly wait to fill in the rest of my beds so she can do more of her magic here at the xericstyle homestead.  And so the ol’ garden saying goes, “First year – sleep. Second year – creep. Third year – leap!”  Can hardly wait to see what year 2 and 3 bring!  I am such a goner…..OBSESSED!

  1. We have the same saying here in Italy, Didn’t know it had crossed the pond! Christina

    • Hey Christina! I have read it a few times online reading about gardening and I have seen it on other blogs too – I really like it. It is amazing how the internet connects people. And what a great teaching tool! – xericstyle

Everything looks so amazing! I love the aloe, never seen one that color. Also the bird bath and the hanging catcus, precious. It makes me smile, too.

    • Thanks so much! When I watered the cactus after planting it a week ago, it turned green! Now it is starting to turn the orangy red again…..so neat!!!!! Glad it made you smile too! – xericstyle
