Little xericstyle strawberry planters…
Because of an intense need to plant and get dirty, and triple digit temperatures here in San Antonio, more planters were born this weekend. It is too hot to plant anything else right now. PHEW!
One of these is a gift for a dinner party tonight, and the others are MINE!
This planter was the second one I did and I plugged the holes with medium sized rocks from the inside until the ‘Angelina’ sedum fills in (so it does not fall out, and so too much water does not pour out when watering) ; I think this looks better so I will gift this one. Check out the sharp spiky shadow the blue agave pup makes!
This planter you can see the rocks plugging the holes, although the ‘Blue Spruce’ sedum should fill in quickly (I hope) and I will remove them. I really REALLY love my new opuntia emerald green. FUNKY! Besides the opuntia, all the rest of the plants in the stawberry planters I had in my garden already – FREE! Love it!
Isn’t this Donkey Tail ‘Burrito’ sedum hybrid cute!?!? How could I pass it up at half off! I think I paid $2 and divided it 3 times for 3 planters. What a deal, eh?!
Been having a lot of fun with planters the last couple months. It is like…living art. I really enjoy making them, and they really add a lot to dressing up the patios. I also LOVE seeing them out the window… :)
What are you up to in the garden this July?
