Summer year 1 and year 2 comparison…

It is HOT out there, and I have been feeling a little bit like nothing is happening…post worthy.  So I decided to look back at pictures from last summer around this time…summer #1 front gardenBEFORE: My front garden last summer Front garden summer #2AFTER:  My front garden’s second summer. (this picture is so dark – I’ll take another later – sorry)2013-07-07_07-24-44A closer look…

  1. You’ve done a great job! Everything has grown really welland it looks beautiful and is an inspiration as to what you can create without additional water.

    • Thank you Christina! I have so much more I want to do – but I learned the hard way last year, it is NOT THE TIME TO PLANT IN TEXAS IN JULY ;) Oh and by the way, the little ollie shrubs we spoke of, are the 1st and 5th shrubs in the living wall on the right side of the yard. I have never trimmed them – they grow in that perfect shape all on their own. – xericstyle

  2. Look at all you have done in just a year and it looks beautiful. Your gomphrena are amazing. So much prettier than a lawn.

    • Thank you Shirley :) I knew you would appreciate the gomphrena ‘fireworks’ shot being one of your favs. – xericstyle

  3. Salma

    love!!!!

  4. Your landscaping looks SO good! Isn’t it great when you see your vision of how you want your yard come to life? Love those gomphrena ‘fireworks’:)

    • Thank you Steph, I appreciate that. YES, it is amazing to experience the fruits of your own labor. I am my fathers daughter…I like to work with my hands and create. I get great satisfaction from working hard. Come to think of it, my mother is also the same….sewing…. -xericstyle

  5. Work it!

    • Workin’ it! And sweating in 100 degrees! Phew! – xericstyle

  6. It’s absolutely amazing that you’ve accomplished all that in a year even if your secret undercover ID is “Superwoman”. It’s not so secret anymore. Love it!

    • Ha! Ha! Somehow I don’t think superwoman is constantly running around with her head cut off – but thank you Ragna! :) -xericstyle

  7. That’s the beauty of blogging — well, of taking before and after pics, anyway. You really see the progress of growing plants that happens without us even noticing. You’ve made so many amazing changes in a very short time. I look forward to following your garden’s continuing evolution!

    • Thank you, Pam!!!!! -xericstyle
